Prepare a Short Report

Use one of the following topics that you and your instructor agree on.  You are an expert who has been called in to explain some aspect of the topic before a group of interested individuals. Since their time is limited, prepare a concise yet forceful report with effective visual aids (Guffey,1998).

1.     The effective use of E-mail.  Consider its uses and abuses.  What problems are companies encountering?  How are some organizations solving those problems?

2.     Economic outlook.  What is the economic prospect for a given product (personal computers, shoes, women’s apparel, domestic cars, TV sets, etc.) this year?

3.     Best buys.  What brand and model of computer and printer represent the best buys for home use today?

4.     Endangered species.  What local plant or animal is endangered, and how can it be protected?

5.     Looking good.  How can your school (or company) improve its image?

6.     Solving a problem.  What measures could your campus take to solve a problem? Consider the following: poor quality snacks and food, long lines at registration, insufficient course offerings, excessive fees, lack of recreational facilities, inadequate computer laboratories, poor facilities, poor appearance of grounds and buildings.

    4. Endangered species. What local plant or animal is endangered, and how can it be protected?

Based on my research, an endangered species is a population of organisms which is at risk of becoming extinct because it is either few in numbers, or threatened by changing environmental or predation parameters. They are living organisms in which their lives are in danger. They can be gone any time now because of our own sins too. Not all of us care about them… not thinking that they can also help us in our everyday lives.

One example of an endangered species here in the Philippipnes is the “Philippine tamaraw (Scientific name: Anoa Mindorensis).” The Tamaraw is the largest land animal native to the Philippines. This small buffalo frequents dense vegetation along the rivers in the lowlands of Mindoro island and spends much of its time in the marshy areas. It is found in open grasslands and forests and range from sea level up to the high ridges of mountains on Mindoro Island, with elevation of more than 2000 m. Tamaraws are great help to all of us… particularly in farming. We can protect them by not allowing anyone to kill and eat their meats, not to kill them to get their best body parts. We, in ourselves, we can start to help them not to become extinct in this world. We can contribute even in our own little way. And, we can protect them if we also protect their habitat which is the forest (we can say that if an organism lives in a better place… they can help themselves to survive).

We can conclude that the survival of an organism depends on its habitat and the organisms around it. We can protect them if we really wanted!!!

"The extinction of popular organism. Can we save it?"

Spotted Deer is one of those endangered species here in the Philippines. it is found mostly in Visayas' rainforest. How can we save them?
The Philippine government passed a law that will protect them. Reforestation may also help them for survival because many of our forest was destroyed by the illegal loggers that caused them to lose home and foods. Encourage other people to save them and inform them about is the essence of having them..
